Candleman Review for the Xbox One

Candleman is beautifully straightforward, yet lovingly created baffle platformer from Spotlightor Interactive. The game follows the story of Candleman, a youthful, recently heart candle with legs, determined to a lighthouse to ask it why it blazes?
Created as a feature of the ID@Xbox initiative, this quiet and gorgeous indie game is just great. Candleman can blaze for ten seconds so each level forces you to use your light painstakingly. The 33 levels are spread crosswise over nine altogether different sections from navigating a submerged ship to wandering among photo-luminescent vegetation. Each section fluctuates the sort of confound of offer, from basic platforming to utilizing the shadows of your foes to activate buttons. The levels are small in real world terms, but feel substantially greater because of the reality you are a tiny candle in an almost terrifying curiously large world. The fantastic use of camera edges, obscurity and light give this game a tight, cleaned feel while being incredibly shortsighted.
It's not a long game and general gamers could finish it in around five hours, however, more youthful players may battle on the later levels. Gratefully, you have ten lives, midpoint checkpoints and automatic saving after each level.
The illustrations and sound are admirable considering the small group that took a shot at the game and the female narrator does a great employment at capriciously telling the story of the candle who needed to be a lighthouse.
Each level has a set number of candles to light and when you find and light them all, you are treated to additional lines in this enchanting story. This component adds a level of replayability, should you need to replay certain levels to light every one of the candles
The gameplay is strong and running and jumping functions admirably. The riddles increase in difficulty somewhat throughout the game, but all give the player a feeling of accomplishment. The game engineer in me really appreciates (and is extremely jealous of) the simplicity of Candleman. The use of light and dim to create atmospheric levels that vibe immense, despite being just a couple of platforms and obstructions. It's done.
Generally speaking, I really delighted in Candleman, as it was adequately different, satisfying to play and just the correct length to appreciate through the span of seven days. I acknowledge the group at Spotlightor as they have created a beautifully basic ordeal that is both enchanting and agreeable. Hardcore gamers may think the early levels are too oversimplified and the general experience is too short, but it's an enchanting excursion that both youthful and old will appreciate.
